Isalakutshelwa Arts, Heritage & Recreation, is commitment to promoting art and contributing to job creation. The fact that the agency is primarily run by vibrant young people suggests a dynamic and innovative approach to achieving its goals.
These events likely serve as platforms for artists to showcase their talents, engage with the community, and contribute to the cultural landscape. Additionally, the agency's emphasis on the role of art in job creation underscores a recognition of the economic potential within the artistic community.
In 2025, Isalakutshelwa Arts, Heritage & Recreation successfully hosted the Inyosi Theatre Experience, a dynamic national platform that brought together emerging artists from Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal for two powerful stage productions.

“My Freedom” – Directed by Brian Mazibuko, this Gauteng production explored themes of identity, resistance, and liberation through a gripping blend of contemporary theatre and traditional performance. Music Directed by Hamilton Chillies Motloung
“Umhlonyane Wam” – Created and performed by 25 talented artists from Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, this heartfelt piece celebrated Zulu heritage, rites of passage, and cultural resilience. Directed by Senzeni Mlambo, the production debuted in Johannesburg before returning home for a community-focused staging in Newcastle.
The Inyosi Theatre Experience offered:
Employment and skills development for over 50 young creatives across both provinces
Cultural exchange and visibility between regional talent pools
Community engagement through performances, workshops, and outreach
A celebration of South Africa’s living heritage through theatre, music, and dance
This dual-production format demonstrated the power of arts to unite diverse communities and elevate new voices on professional stages. It marked a major step forward in our ongoing commitment to cultural preservation, youth empowerment, and artistic excellence.
